on the brown admissions site, it says that,

"Brown requires every applicant for admission to Brown in 2006-2007 to submit results of either the SAT Reasoning Test and any two SAT Subject Tests (except for the SAT Writing Test), or the ACT taken with the Writing Test option."

now, i can read that as saying Brown requires
A) SAT Reasoning Test and 2 Subject Tests
OR
B)ACT

...and i can also read it as saying
A) SAT Reasoning Test
B) 2 Subject Tests
OR
B) ACT

does anyone know which it is?

Umm, those all say the same thing, just worded slightly different. The fact that the third has two B's implies that there is option of SAT's with subject tests OR the ACT, which is what the other two say.

maybe i wasnt clear...what i mean is do you submit your SAT Reasoning and SAT II's as a package OR submit just your ACT...or do you submit your SAT Reasoning Test + your SAT II's OR ACT...does that make more sense?

i know what you're saying.

it should be (SAT Reasoning and SAT IIs) or ACT as opposed to SAT Reasoning and (SAT IIs or ACT) because SAT I usually substitutes for ACT and vice versa.

You need to submit one of 2 set(s) of standardized tests:

1,) The SAT with 2 SAT IIs

OR

2.) The ACT with writing
