Does anyone use Physics by Saxon for AP Physics B?

My class uses this book, but it's really old (1993). The district pays for Serway and Faughn (sp?), but my teacher chooses to use this one. It's all black and white and weirdly organized. I don't know if I should trust it. lol

Do you think I should buy a different physics book to study from?

My class uses Giancoli 2003. At first I thought this book sucked because its kinda old but I've seen some people on here say that they thought it was a great prep.

Is the book you're using approved by Collegeboard for AP use?

My physics teacher has been teaching physics at my school for 30 years, so I think I can trust him...but I'm just wondering why he continues to use the book by Saxon when he could update to the one by Serway.

I don't know if it's approved by CollegeBoard. Do they even have a list of approved books? I know they had example textbooks on AP Central, but I don't remember seeing a book by Saxon on there.

BTW, this is the book I'm talking about:
