I just checked since I knew they were posting decisions today, and mine still says "Decision Pending." I guess this means I got rejected? Underneath it says:

Thank you for your application to UC Santa Barbara for the fall term 2012.

Decisions were posted on this site beginning at 3 p.m. on March 19 for most of the 68,000 freshman and transfer applicants for Fall 2012.

Remaining decisions for Fall 2012 will continue to be announced in the coming weeks as evaluations are completed. All Freshman decisions will be complete by March 31. All transfer decisions will be finalized before May 1.

Please check back on this site for updates. Positive decisions will also be communicated in a mailed letter.

Also on this site, using the tabs above, you will find test scores that have been reported to us, notice of any transcripts received, and a list of important dates and deadlines.

In the meantime we encourage you to Visit UCSB and learn more about our campus.

We wish you the very best in your educational endeavors.

Sincerely,

UCSB Office of Admissions

Ugh I hope this doesn't mean I didn't get in. I applied to the college of letters and science, and I was just waitlisted by UCSD.

Yeah me too, it says decision pending. I’m pretty fed up with all this prolonged and anticipated wait from colleges. I have no clue what that means. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Last year when I applied (I’m a freshman now at UCSB) I didn’t hear about that happening at all. Does your last name happen to be at the end of the alphabet? I really wouldn’t sweat it too much, there have been people declined without the decision pending so it won’t have a correlation. If you want to give me your stats and all that junk I can help to make a good estimate as to whether you got in.

I’m in the same boat! I really hope it doesn’t mean rejection…my last name does start with a Y though. But, UCSB was a huge reach for me to begin with. My unweighted gpa is 3.1 and SATs are a 2010, I have a good number of extra curricular’s and internships and I was confident in my essay. I am also from New York though, so not an in stater…so its not looking good for me!

Last name starts with a G…

Thanks for all the replies guys, it just worries me because it seems that everyone who has heard has been either accepted or waitlisted… so it seems that all that is left are rejections

Mine says Decision Pending, quite a buzzkill because I was hoping for a decision (acceptance, rejection or wait list either way) by today. I read somewhere that it’s generally sent in batches, with the first batch being the ‘best’ students. Will being in a different batch make it more difficult to get in?

I doubt it has anything to do with a batch of “best student”, because if so, why would anyone be rejected? Chances are it’s in batches of students in the order of which the App was received

i submitted my app about 2 hours before midnight on Nov 30…econ major (emphasis accounting)…nor cali cc…keep the hope…not hearing yet doesn’t mean rejection.GLGL

It also doesn’t mean acceptence haha… Well I applied like the morning of the 30th… dang luck of the draw I guess… Are they releasing it as they complete it or in batches?

well, for me the ‘decision pending’ lasted until today (thursday) and turned into ACCEPTED! this morning. oh my, what a relief. good luck to all of you, i hope to see you there. it was quite stressful waiting those extra days~

I am a transfer student with a Transfer Admission Guarantee for Biochemistry and my status is STILL “Decision Pending” as of Sunday, March 25. I sure hope this doesn’t go all the way until May 1st because this is driving me crazy.
