Does application timing matter for Stony?

Hi, So for Stony the app is due not later than Jan.15.. but my question is, is there a certain period where its best for one to submit the app? For example, is there a difference between my chances of getting into Stony if I were to send me app. Dec.1st compared to December 20th?

Thanks!

Your chances will not increase if you apply early, no.

stony brook implements rolling admissions. learn more about this here:

We are not entirely rolling… we have a January 15 deadline for freshmen. Please check our site for details.

My understanding of the application process is that “Priority Application Deadline” is January 15th but that applications will be still be accepted after January 15th on a space-available basis.

This is according to the

Ok. I’m from NY, is there a certain date that would be best to have the application in by? Also, is it ok if the information my guidance counselor sends in is a little earlier than when my application and test scores arrive?

I know Stony gets a lot of apps from everywhere.

Thanks for the help!

I would say get it in as early as you can just to be done with. Also it doesn’t matter if everything don’t get there at once, such as SAT scores or transcripts/recommendations/etc.
