I’m wondering because I wanted to apply before Nov 30th
@dodgerman711 Penn St has rolling admissions and the sooner you apply the better…better chances if you get it in before Nov. 30th
Alright
@THONMOMPSU If you are a little bit below their gpa requrement is it better to apply early?
If you apply by November 30 you will hear by January 31st. Your best shot is applying before November 30. But it really doesn’t matter HOW far before November 30th it is. Just make sure all of your materials are in and accounted for by November 30 and you will be a priority applicant. Its not really early decision - but it’s modified rolling.
@jlhpsu does it increase chances to get in? Can apply as undecided?
Applying before November 30th is pretty much mandatory. There are people who applied after that and are still waiting (and being very vocal about it, last I saw; don’t want to be in that position). You can apply as undecided (in “DUS”), which may increase your chances. You may also want to apply for the summer session, which can increase chances as well. Your UW GPA is low; weighted might be okay, though. Check out the Common Data Set to see how you stack up: http://budget.psu.edu/CDSRedesign/cds.aspx?reportindicator=FreshAdmn&Location=UP&AY=20152016 Note that PSU does not superscore.
I have a 3.5 weighted gpa will they accept me?
@bodangles
My daughter got in last year (class of 2019) with a 3.45 GPA and a 28 ACT. But she got in for summer session and undecided. Those two together give you the best option of getting in. And definitely apply before November 30th. The criteria gets more difficult after that and you are borderline anyway. You have a chance. Not a shoe in, but my D got in with similar GPA …and depends on your test scores.
Alright
@jlhpsu thank you
