Does applying undeclared affect your admission?

<p>Does applying undeclared affect your admission? I applied to all the UCs except UCLA and UC Berkeley, and i put undeclared as my major. I heard that it doesnt affect your admission. Or does it?</p>

<p>It depends on which college within a specific UC you apply to. For Berkeley, undeclared in the College of Engineering is harder to get into than undeclared in the College of Letters and Sciences. From what I've heard, undeclared engineering/EECS/bioE are the hardest majors to get into at Berkeley. So, applying as undeclared engineering might be harder than civil engineering at Berkeley.</p>
