Does Bama looked at Weighted GPA for OOS Scholarships

Does Bama look at weighted or unweighted GPA for their out of state merit scholarships? Keeping in mind that the SAT/ACT requirements are met.

Thanks

Yes.

Bama accepts the highest GPA that is put on one’s transcript for grades 9-11.

So, if that is 3.5, then you’re good to go.

If your school does not put the weighted GPA on your transcript, then ask your GC to write the weighted GPA on the transcript and sign it.

^^^ That’s cool that they’ll accept the GC writing it in. UA certainly does seem to make it as easy as possible to apply and qualify - good for them! It’s such a relief when so many other schools keep admissions as a mystery…

Amen PinotNoir. I am not sure if anyone is following the below thread, but it is no wonder so many are losing confidence in the college app. process, and colleges themselves.

Thank you so much. My school only puts the weighted GPA on our transcript. It is a 4.2, but the unweighted is 3.4. So am I still good to go?

Yes!! You are!

Tell us more about yourself…

What state?

What major?

What scholarship are you looking for?

Texas.
I haven’t really decided the major, but I am interested in psychology.
I’d like a full ride, but I haven’t taken the ACT yet.

Just to clarify…

If you get an ACT 32 or 1400 M+CR SAT, then it would be for “free tuition”…not a free ride. A free ride is tuition, housing, meals, etc.

Oh okay. That’s fine too :). Thanks for the clarification.
