<p>Band most certainly does help. It shows so much commitment, and depending on where you are applying, if you agree to i.e. march/play for them, you may get money. I play keyboards, and a lot of schools are willing to give me money if I play for their marching band. Being in band is one of the best things that you can put on your college application because, it sets you apart from most people. How many people can say that they played Baritone for 8 years [do you play trombone as well? I know many baritone players that play trombone, too].</p>
