Does begging for an interview do any good?

So, I applied EA and was deferred. I sent updates to my CV, then went back and read their policy on interviews, since I was never offered one.
It said in big bold letters not to contact them asking for an interview, but I couldn't resist.

I was actually afaid that because I live in Germany and my mail from the states is FREQUENTLY lost or late arriving, that I may have been mailed instructions or something and simply never received it.
The response I received was very nice, saying that they never mail interview info, and although it was late in the game (January), the admissions officer offered to "see what she could do". I sent off a quick thank-you-for-your-time and figured that was the last I'd hear of it.

About a week later I received an email from Germany's Yale interview coordinater, saying that the interviewer in my area was unavailable, but I could go meet a woman about an hour away and interview there.
Of course, I took the oppertunity, and the interview went very well, I'd like to think.

Now, here's the question: anyone have any idea how Yale will see this? Will I be given bonus points for being persistent, or at least noted at "likely to matriculate," or will I get points off for ignoring the big bold print that said not to go and beg them for an interview?

I realize this is probably a stupid post, but March 31 drawing near, details like this are starting to nag at the back of my mind.
"What could I have done better? What did I mess up on?"

Once applications are over, we are all going to need shrinks.

It doesnt sound like you begged them, it just sounds like you made an inquiry. It's not clear whether the inquiry and the actual interview were connected. It also sounds like the interview went well. You have done everything right and now the decision is in Yale's hands. My D had an interview where a group of alums interviewed about 40 applicants in our area. Although the interview went well, she was told that the interviews have almost no weight. Please don't worry about it - you did everything right. Your academic record speaks for itself and at this point, it is what it is. Good luck!

I know they were connected because when I was contacted by the Yale interview organizer, he mentioned getting an email from the woman I wrote to, and he cc'd her.

But anyhow, thanks for that, at this point I'm in need of a good reality check (It's in yale's hands, your record is what it is, etc).

It's find. Begging for an interview cannot be negative because it shows that you possibly have personal characteristics that could have been missed in the initial application/essay/ECs/recs and would like the respective college to know about. Best of luck
