I looked up last year’s regular decision admissions/WL/rejects and while everyone posted SAT scores and GPA’s, there was no mention of any legacies decisions at all. Does anyone know the stats from last years class (2009) in terms of children of alums getting letters of admit/WL/deny?

I'm almost positive that legacies have a much better chance of getting into the school that their siblings go to/are at. As long as you have good grades and ECs, you should be set. I got in with 1320 SATs, 3.8-3.9 GPA, some volunteer wok and a bunch of ECs, and I was not a legacy. You could probably give lots of leeway for your scores if you are one.

AliAngel, which school did you apply to and did you apply ED, EA, or RD, or what?

AliAngel, was that 3.8-3.9 unweighted or weighted???

even if people tell me i have a good chance of gettting into BU, would it help a lot if I go to the information session in my area in Atlanta, GA???

sammo33, does BU take note on whether you attend these information sessions/visit campus? Do they have a system of marking it down so they can consider that when they view your app?

I applied to CAS regular decision. BU actually wasn't my first choice. I got rejected from Tufts and waitlisted at BC and Vanderbilt, but I am soooo happy that I'm at BU right now. My GPA was unweighted, but my school was a really hard class and really competitive. I only finished up about top 8%. And I would DEFINATELY go to an info session. Not just to find out chances or whatever, but see why BU really appeals to you. You might find it to be the perfect fit, which I did, or not at all.
