Does being a legacy help?

My DD is a legacy, applied RD and got in. She was admitted to two out of the three ivy league schools she applied to. Her admission to this second ivy was confirmation that she had ivy credentials - it wasn’t just a favor from Yale. I am going to have to assume that this is the case with a lot of admitted legacies. I see nothing wrong with competing for alumni children that could potentially result in a generous donation some day. Donations in turn allow students to attend Yale that otherwise could not afford to. BTW DD has an older brother that we never considered applying to Yale because academically he simply was not ivy material. We knew better than to look for a favor. I propose CC legacies admitted to Yale post whether or not they were admitted to another Ivy. I don’t think anyone will be too surprised with the results.
