Do colleges like to accept minorities rather than caucasions? Im half white and half Asian; should I put that Im white or that Im Asian?

uh. being a minority definitely helps, but only if you're underrepresented. being white or asian doesn't help, and asian can even work against you because there's a plethora of qualified asian applicants.

i would think there's no difference in putting down you're both or just white.

i'd vote for just putting white.... asians are ORM (over-rep).... but then again i'm disenfranchised...blah

Only if you're Native-American. I am. Well at least on my application I am. Just kidding. I didn't put that down.

I know - my D wanted to put down Native American (she's about 1/16).

The funny thing is she checked off Puerto Rican by mistake (next to the caucasian box). Before she submitted, she printed the common app. off and I told her to check it, come back to it and check it again - a few more times. She skimmed over that part the first couple of time because she was concentrating on her essays to make sure there were no spelling or grammatical errors and figured she didn't even have to bother with the personal info. Luckily on her 4th or 5th lookover, she caught it.
