does being an eagle scout make a big difference for admission to a tier one school (georgetown)?

doubt it. No one part of your application will make a “big difference” to admissions; it is more of a sum of all its parts, unless you have a big hook (I don’t even know what a big hook is, but it is most likely not being an eagle scout).

It’s a nice EC but it won’t make a “big” difference.

Being an Eagle Scout is one of the premium ECs. It’s not going to save you if your grades/scores are terrible, but if you’re sitting right on the bubble, it’ll almost always tip the scales in your favor.

It’ll become a huge factor if USNWR calculates it the rankings, till then it’s just a very nice EC.
