Does being in the first batch of decisions mean you are more competitive?

I just got accepted into UCSD- can't help but notice that a lot of people haven't heard back yet.
Does this mean that my stats are better than the other's? (the people who havent received an admission letter)
I applied to UCB- Haas and UCLA as well; wondering if this means something.

Nope. People all over the GPA spectrum range has been getting theirs on the 1st day.

Sigh. Knew it was too good to be true. I guess I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

Same here. But I havent heard anything from Ucsd yet :frowning: SDSU rejected me with no reason so now all I could do is hoping for the UC decisions.

But its super slowwwwww…

I don’t think so. I got accepted in the first batch for UCSB but I know that people who are way more qualified than I am are still pending. I’m guessing that it’s random.

Perhaps it is random or perhaps it has to do with when the original application was submitted? I was accepted to UCSD and sent in my UC app one day before the final deadline.

^^
i doubt it. i think the apps are reviewed in random order. i sent my app in about 2 weeks before the deadline. i got my acceptance in the first batch for UCI but haven’t heard from UCSD yet

Maybe it’s done in regards to the CC that you are currently attending, because it seems to me that everyone at my CC was in the first batch at UCSB but no one has heard from others
