Does Berkeley CalSo really cost $170???

can anyone answer my question?

Haha. It’s automatic.

You don’t need to sign up for it.

haha cool thnx

If at all possible, go to CALSO, unless you are an old-hand with the way things work at UCB.

Also, some or one of you wrote that you sign up for 11 units then. Wrong. 10.5 units is all that’s allowed CALSO First Phase. They limit this so every body gets a shot at impacted classes. Classes are already impacting: the good math teacher for Math 54 has sold all but 30 of his 490 seats, as of this writing. The bad Math 54 teacher has only sold 40 of his 400 seats.

You are not allowed to sign up for classes until doing CALSO or getting a wavier of some sort, how ever this is or is not possible for Frosh. You want to be in the earliest group possible at CALSO, May 31/Jun1 to snag what seats are left that this years’ frosh have not snagged, who couldn’t get these classes this year.

Alas, there’s plenty every one has to do to graduate, so hopefully all will some how eventually get handled. But for those of you who know you’ll be applying to a particular college as early as Nov 1 of sophomore year, you will want to have completed as many of the required courses to get into this or that college. At least take, say an intro course, asap, if only to be sure this is really the major, college for you.

this is a tremendous piece of advice! thank you.
