Does Berkeley have a deaf community?

Just wondering, I'm not deaf but I want to learn American Sign Language. I searched the website but could not find any clubs related to ASL. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am not sure what's available. I do know many community colleges have classes in this subjec,t which you could take over the summer.

I think some colleges are reluctant to offer ASL as a foreign language because it lacks a written component (and sort of a hearing component, although it has the reading/seeing component), one of four majors aspects of languages which schools use (as far as I've heard).

Ya, I'm deaf who's going berkeley this fall. I heard that there are about 20 deaf and hard of hearing in berkeley. However, like me, they might not know ASL very well. They mainly lip read and talk. I know sign language lil bit tho.
