Does berkeley have an "admitted student profile" like UCLA?

does UCB have the same type of thing as UCLA where they break down by major the profile of admitted transfer students, and they mention gpa /units and so forth.

I wish. Apparently, from what I understand, they don't admit by major. I think there admit system is the most unique of all the UC's.

well .. all i can say then is boohoo.

don't worry u won't get in.....j/k

Average college GPA (middle 50%
of students on a 4.0 scale) 3.50 - 3.89

They do give that little tid-bit of info.

well... that doesnt help me .. my gpa is 3.48

I am pretty sure i wont get in either, i actually didnt care until a few days ago, i applied to Cal because i got a fee waiver so i had the opporutunity to apply to 4 UC's for free, so i figured, why not Cal... UCLA was my 1st choice.

Malishka, just as Matt said, Berkeley does not admit by major (there are exceptions for some majors) so what use would a profile be!?

They admit by divisions within schools: for instance, social sciences within letters & science: around a 22% admit rate, humanities within letters & science: around a 44% admit rate.

eh, i dunno even know how anyone admitts. I used to think that 3.3 +igetc for SB was automatic. Then we see coast get rejected.

wat does it mean: Berkeley does not admit by major ?

They admit by divisions within schools for most majors; some majors, however, have admits individually.

http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/Transfer_06.pdf

when i called UCSB to ask about my language requirement that's what they told me too, they didnt admit based on major, thats why my GF got in as a theater major without even auditioning.

That's not entirely correct. For most majors, UCSB doesn't screen for prereqs (like letters & science), but for some majors they do. They consider the major and have different procedures for different majors.

Berkeley's process is different. They compare applicant strength, for instance, to other applicants in the division which the applicant applied (rather than the particular major).

ok, can someone go and stalk some adcoms so i can find out if i am already rejected or not

i pay 5 $ an hour for adcom stalking

Not exactly user-friendly, but you can calculate the numbers yourself in most cases. Have fun.

Wo dude, how did you find that. Wow.

Haha, I actually don't know. It was tricky.

If only it had transfer GPAs, ahhh, that would be very goood, but no.

does that show any transfer stuff though? i think its all for freshman

I know. It's good for a breakdown of admits by major, but that's about it. And father's level of education of admitted students. That's REALLY important.

Malishka, transfer information is in there too; it's just not very easy to use.
