Does Berkeley look highly at the Honors Program??

I didn't take any honors courses due to a lack of time since I am a one-year transfer.
I have a 4.0 so far and just waiting on my grades after this semester... but I'm nervous they may not like to see that I didn't take any honors classes.
Do you think they will take this into consideration?

Thank you for your answers :)

I’m at a CCC by the way

I’m kind of in the same boat, with a 4.0 and all. I shared the same concern as you so I decided to take Honors Statistics next semester just incase. What’s your major? I’m pretty sure with 4.0’s we’ll be fine.

They don’t have any TAP or TAG programs (unless ur an underprivileged minority or something…) so it shouldnt really matter too much. But it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have taken honors courses, especially since most of them are as easy as the normal ones

I’m a sociology major. Yeah I should have listed that I would take at least one honors class next semester. UGH this is going to bother me now aha, oh well.

Honor courses can only help you. At my school if you take 6+ honor classes you get an honorary scholar designation on your transcript. :)

yea, i’m also a one yr transfer and i was more concerned with getting into classes let alone honors classes…though i told them in the additional comments that i was recently accepted into the honors program and that i would begin taking honors classes the next couple of quarters

I was told by a Berkeley rep that UCB does not honor the Honors Programs at community colleges.

So it doesn’t matter to Berk whether or not you are in the Honors Program.
