DS was accepted ED. He has a scheduling conflict for Blue Devil Days. I am wondering if anyone who has been through Blue Devil Days can say how important it is for him to attend being that he is definitely enrolling in the Fall.
Is Blue Devil Days more of a recruiting event for those with other options or is it more like orientation for everyone? Is there a seperate orientation for incoming students?
Thanks.

It’s purely a recruiting weekend. The actual orientation traditionally happens the third week of august right before classes start. Plenty of people do not come to BDD for various reasons (financial, distance, scheduling, etc) and you won’t miss anything important. The main goal is really to try to convince students to go to Duke.

Thanks for the quick response. Definitely feeling much more at ease with skipping it.

Here’s a little bit more info about this year’s BDD:
