I may want to transfer to UF and I have Florida residency. I graduated from a Florida high school and went to an Out of state university for almost one year. If accepted, will I still be eligible to use my Bright Futures that was awarded for me a year ago? Will I have to apply again?
Thanks.

If you applied for Bright Futures before you graduated High School, then yes, you will have access to the scholarship. But if you did not apply before graduation, then you can't get the money. It's a weird policy, I know.

That brings up a quirky thing about BF. There are tons of Florida students who qualify for BF, but don't apply for it because they are going out of state. Then, if they transfer back in state, they don't have BF. If you are a Florida student, be sure to apply for BF even if you have no intention of using it. It costs nothing, and is good for 5 years or so. It's like an insurance policy.

Same thing my BRACE adviser would tell us in high school.
