GPA by far is the best predictor of ability to handle college workload. SATs test more exam taking skills

The problem is that in many cases GPA is useless due to insane grade inflation in many public high schools. I surely didn't work my ass off to get a high GPA in HS, the classes were just too easy

what are you going to be doing in college, taek? not taking exams? awwww sheeeeeit

Right, elpope, that's why the SAT is so necessary. It's a STANDARDIZED test, which means that the results can be compared to anyone else's in the country. GPA isn't a good indicator of academic ability because it's not standardized.

Brown, like any other top private college, obviously cares very much about standardized testing results, as demonstrated by the above part of their website.

Compared to other ivy leagues, I feel Brown cares less than most ivies about the SAT score. This is mostly based on personal experience with myself and my friends. In addition, Browns 25th to 75th percentile SAT is a bit lower than most ivies, with the exception of Penn and Cornell. Then again, the difference in ranges isn't extremely large.
