re: underachieving children of US presidents and their college destinations, Brown also had Amy Carter.

texas, I believe you have 5 pages of answers to your question.

Brown also has Rory Kennedy. So Brown can likewise say it has the Kennedys. Going back to the original intent of this post, Brown has housed some of the most famous Americans in the past century; two Kennedy's, several famous actors, Ted Turner, etc. It has a reputation among the northeast elite the rivals HYP for undergrad. Why is it relatively unknown overseas?
[/quote]

Because overseas, most people don't know who Rory Kennedy is, and nor do they care. Because overseas most people don't know who Ted Turner is, and nor do they care. Because overseas most people don't know where any actors happened to go to university (why you would mention actors I have no idea -- they're actors!), nor do they care. Because overseas, most people are familiar with JFK because he was an important person, and couldn't care less about who happened to be his brother or son or relative. Nor should they care.

Just because Americans know who someone is doesn't mean the rest of the world gives a s. Nor should they give a s.

John Kerry's daughter as well

Brown had John Jr and Rory.

I knew Jack Kennedy. Sir, John jr and Rory were no Jack Kennedy.

Oh please, overseas they don't care? Wealthy foreigners are the biggest prestige whores I have ever seen. A lot of them only care about where other famous people went to school so they can add some prestige to their CV.

TITCR. Brown has always been known as a drop off for the children of the wealthy elite.

^^^ Dude, you seem to have an obsession with this international reputation thing. Out of your grand total of 26 posts, 25 have been dedicated to this topic which now is becoming nauseating. Don' t you have anything else of significance to contribute since nothing new is being said or .....what is it?

it is the subject of the thread.

I know,..and started by you.. but aren't you intererested in any of the thousands of threads or other topics on CC. I see that now you are 26 out of 27 posts.... doing the same thing.

They care if it's someone important like JFK. They don't care if it's some irrelevant relative of JFK. You mentioned actors (irrelevant), relatives of JFK (irrelevant), and Ted Turner -- who is rich and owns some media outlets, but is still, in the eyes of foreigners, irrelevant.

Basically, you wish Brown had decent international recognition. The reality is it doesn't. And no matter how much you annoyingly post your 'arguments' as to why the world should be different, it isn't going to change the fact that people overseas don't really care about Brown. If you actually want people to notice Brown, maybe you should go there, get elected president, and then use every opportunity as commander-in-chief to make speeches about why the rest of the world should think more highly of your undergraduate uni.

siserune....yawn......

Apparently several other posters consider it a subject worth discussing.

You posted 5 messages to this thread (and similar postings in other threads) attempting to prevent further conversation. Evidently you feel some need to control discussion and decide, for others, when it is "time to move on". Get over it.

Nobody is forcing you to read postings. If the discussion is as awful as you claim, anyone who thinks so can stop reading at any time.

siserune.....YAWN......again

Are posts 92 and 94 examples of what the poster demands of others, i.e., something "of significance to contribute"? Or is that a prerequisite only for others' postings?

You know exactly what I mean. Get over it. Why dont' you just go and comment something about the Brown Open Curriculum.

Still telling other people what they think and what they should do? Isn't Brown education supposed to be all about the absence of control, or did you miss that?

No, siserune, I have not missed that because I am just starting! Yeah!!!! Class of 2011 here!!. I am sure that I will have it down pretty soon!! But please, lets not turn this into a conversation between us. It is not about that. If you are that interested, just feel free to PM and I will give you my phone number so you can call me.

Have fun at Brown --- and hopefully let the rest of us have fun online.

Cheers.

Oh...wait. Did u see what you said in post# 97?

Cheers!!!
