Does Brown have international recognition?

Brown is ranked 85th internationally, below University of Michigan and Tokyo.

It says so here...

<a href="http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/rank/2007/ARWU2006_Top100.htm%5B/url%5D">http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/rank/2007/ARWU2006_Top100.htm</a></p>

"Have fun" is hortatory, not imperative. Brown probably has rhetoric classes that explain the difference, which again has to do with absence of control. Enjoy!

siserune "opined",

You posted 5 messages to this thread (and similar postings in other threads) attempting to prevent further conversation. Evidently you feel some need to control discussion and decide, for others, when it is "time to move on". Get over it.

I guess "Get over it" is also hortatory, not imperative ? Perhaps you should have come to Brown to learn the difference. You are, again, contradicting yourself.

I realized that you have become a little sensitive after i told you in another thread, that YOU were rambling incoherently and that perhaps it was time to move on. In turns that in fact, you were. YOu had been "owned" several times in that discussion and you just would not stop. The results are now a Featured Discussion in the specific topic in question, which I guess it was a very good thing at the end.

As far as this thread is concerned, after 5 pages it seemed that we were going back to the first one and I suggested to move on, perhaps not so "hortatorily". Of course, your sensitivity was again.......touched.

Since you like to "opine" so much and because you want to use this forum to converse with ME instead of PMing me ( or calling me ), the intended purpose is not being accomplished. Keeping with your "theme", " I will now, let you have the last word".

I can really think of something that you will really....Enjoy!!

This is by far the most worthless thread on the boards.

Why? Because I asked about Brown's international recognition? Why is that such a worthless topic to some of you guys?

Well, that's just part of it. I think it's a silly question, because there aren't very many fields that require a higher education institution to have recognition for you to get a job. And it's totally situational-based, anyway. Because honestly, if you're not qualified for the job, Brown's status overseas isn't going to make a difference. Get it? Even if there's some scenario where the employer is looking at your application and someone else's, and you're totally equal, and for whatever reason, your employer decides that what college you went to is going to make or break the decision. If he/she is unfamiliar with Brown, and it mattered that much, he/she will take two minutes out of the day to check it out on the internet. Why even discuss aspects of a wild hypothetical? Just say problem solved, end of story.

But even more than that, it's gotten absolutely ridiculous that it's now turned into this trivial argument between siserune and MovieBuff. Seriously, the two of you are being children. Look at what you're saying to each other, and realize how foolish it sounds.

No more of this (any of this - arguments between people or discussion of "international status"), please.
