<p>Does Brown use an academic index to weed out applicants? If one doesn't make that cut, does it mean that one's application, essays, recs, etc. don't get read?</p>
<p>And is it possible to calculate AI using ACT scores rather than SAT? What if the applicant hasn't taken, and doesn't plan to take, the SAT?</p>

<p>If they did, there would be complex equations, systems, and services revolving around this. So it would be a no. </p>
<p>There are stories of people getting in with very low SATs. No application is automatically disregarded. If it is, you might be able to bring it into court.</p>
<p>they have to calculate the AI for athletes for sure. the ivy league rules make it so that the AI of the team can only be so far away from the average AI of the rest of the student body. this implies that the AI would have to be calculated for the whole student body in order to make that comparison. what that means for admissions, i have no idea...</p>
