Does BU look more at grades or Test scores?

Or are they equally weighted?

Boston University is my number one school, and i want to be accepted so badly. My problem is my test scores. I have a little over a 3.5 UW GPA, with 4 AP classes, an honors class, and 3 years of advanced science. I have a lot of EC’s with leadership rolls ( captain and officers). I am getting a good rec from one of my AP teachers. My problem is my test scores. My highest is a 21 act :frowning: i know it’s so horrible. I even studied for this test. My problem ( not to try to make excuses for low scores) is my nerves. I’ve had bad problems with anxiety my whole life, having to go through medication and other things. When i get into the test i over think too much and end up doing poorly. I am taking the test one more time in December so hopefully my scores will improve. But if they don’t, are my chances at getting accepted to Boston University completely shot? I plan to apply to School of Hospitality or Sargent college.

Sorry this is so long, but thanks!

I don’t know the answer to your question, but if you retake the ACTs in December, are you sure they will have your new scores by the Jan 1 deadline? If you’re taking the writing section, won’t it take up to 5 weeks. Meeting deadlines was something I was concerned about for my D as well.

i’m pretty sure at most schools, your high school transcript is the most important application piece.

but a low test score could drag you down too.

I’m not positive if scores will reach it in time or not. I’ve heard that they will, but i plan on calling the admissions office to find out for sure. And thanks Nervus
