There’s a lot of people that feel like you.
Don’t worry about it.

For what it’s worth, in my year, there was one person that had an SAT above 2000.

Well I felt out of place the second semester of my senior year, but otherwise, I liked my high school experience (save some regrets obviously). However, Cal sadly does not get too much better than high school in social terms. Most of the time, it’s pretty damn impersonal. You have to make a lot of effort in order to gain new friends, no matter how social or popular you were. Realize that these people you (will) meet is similar to meeting your first best friend in elementary school. You know nothing about these people and they don’t know anything about you. Sure everyone is friendly (sometimes too friendly…like conversing in the bathroom which I found really awkward lol), but I don’t really count them as friends…just mere acquaintances. It took a good semester or so to realize whom I liked and disliked.
People always seem to say that there is a place for everyone at Cal, but you just have to find it. Personally I call shens on that.
