Does cancelling an ap score look bad?

say i took an exam in 2008 and i cancelled it this month. does it look bad if the college i attend next year sees that it's cancelled when it gets the report in june/july? this was a self study exam.

Hasn’t the deadline passed for canceling exams from last year?

I don’t think your score report would say “canceled,” it just wouldn’t include that test score. Canceling is fine if you didn’t take the respective AP class because the self study wouldn’t show up on your transcript. Otherwise, don’t.

assuming it did say canceled though, does it still look bad? and all ap scores appear on our school’s transcripts, regardless of whether or not we self studied for it.

Once it’s canceled you didn’t officially take it.

It doesn’t matter because it doesn’t say “canceled,” so therefore it doesn’t look bad. The score just doesn’t show up. If you cancel a self study it won’t matter because you didn’t take the class. But if you cancel a score in which you took the class then it would look bad because it appears as if you chose not to take the exam. I believe that is what jamesford meant.

the thing is, i didn’t cancel it before june 15th and i’ve heard that it will say “canceled” next to the exam i took. (this was an exam i took last year and one that i already know the score of )

It doesn’t matter if you didn’t take the class.

What happens if the car broke down on the way to AP and you couldn’t take the test? Does it show up as 0?

I’m a bit panicked about that. >__<

“Canceled, Canceled, Canceled” looks much more appealing than “1, 1, 1.”

To the student maybe, but not to admissions.

canceled, canceled, canceled = oops, oops, oops
