I'm going to be in MCS this fall and I'm trying to understand CMU's AP policy. According to the MCS credit table*, 5's on math/science exams give your credit for actual courses (a 5 on Physics C: Mech allows you to skip 33-111, a 5 on AP CS allows your to skip 15-112, etc). For most humanities exams, however, a 5 gives your credit for "AP ..." - a 5 on AP world gives you credit for "AP World History," a 5 on AP Euro gives your credit for "AP European History," and so on. Does this mean that humanities AP's won't give your credit that you can use toward gen-ed or major requirements?

Also, I earned a 5 on these humanities and social science AP's: Macroecon, Microecon, English Language, European History, US Gov & Politics, Comp Gov & Politics, Psychology, Statistics, World History. Aside from Macro and Micro, which AP's will count for meaningful credit?
