Does CMU superscore the New SAT? Help!

Does Carnegie Mellon Superscore the new SAT? It is unclear on their website and the College Board is telling me they require for all scores to be sent.

No. Their website makes no mention of superscoring so you should not assume this is a given. And yes, they do require all scores.

I’m not sure how current this webpage is, but it would appear that CMU superscores:

If you are unsure how your scores compare to CMU’s published stats, it might be worth emailing admissions to confirm their superscoring policy.

^ Ditto on calling them, since that statement from two years ago seems to be available still when you google CMU and Superscoring but not when you look through the website today (at least I couldn’t find it but then I’m not the most thorough). What has NOT changed is the way they view your SAT scores; giving weight to the highest overall score but looking at the pattern (since all scores are required).

It’s best to follow the current standardized testing policies which are laid out in their brochure, page 3. These should be the same as on the website, but in the event of discrepancies this is probably the default. Here’s what they say about standardized testing:

"6. Take the SAT Test or ACT Test, and most programs recommend that applicants take two SAT Subject Tests, preferably by October for Early Decision, or by November for Regular Decision. Please refer to the Standardized Testing chart on page 5.

Applicants are required to submit all official results of either the SAT Test or the ACT Test and the recommended SAT Subject Tests. While we’re interested in the general pattern of your scores, we give most weight to the highest
score you’ve received on the SAT. On the ACT, we give most weight to the set of scores corresponding to the highest composite score. We feel that the results of all standardized test scores, when used in combination with other measures of your performance, provide insight into your academic abilities. Results of the March tests arrive too late to receive any consideration.

• You must submit all official scores electronically through College Board, ACT or the Educational Testing Service (ETS). When you register for the test, request that an official Score Report be sent directly to Carnegie Mellon. Make sure your name, address and birthdate on the application matches the information used to register for these tests. The Carnegie Mellon code number is 2074.

• You may submit your application before receiving all official score reports.

• You may also choose to have your counselor fax a copy of your SAT or ACT score report in place of ordering an official copy, if the cost of additional score reports is prohibitive. All international applicants must submit all official scores electronically through the College Board or ACT. "

They do. I asked the assistant directors of admissions during a seminar, and he said that they do, in fact, super-score the new SAT.
