Does Columbia offer financial aid to Canadians?

Hi, I am a Canadian student thinking of applying to Columbia university. Does the school offer financial aid to Canadians? Are Canadians considered international students? And how much need are usually met?
thanks

From what I know, unfortunately Columbia, like the majority of US private and public universities, does not offer finanical aid/scholarships to Canadians or anyone who is not a US citizen. Canadians are considered "international students" at all US institutions.

Yes they do. See: <a href="http://www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/finaid/how_to_apply/canadian.php%5B/url%5D">http://www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/finaid/how_to_apply/canadian.php</a></p>

It was a bit trickier for me because I'm a Canadian citizen but I've lived in the U.S. for the past 4 years (so all my taxes and stuff are in US dollars). I don't have a Green Card. But I just filled everything out like any regular US applicant and it worked for me.

If you are a Canadian living in Canada, just do what the page tells you to. In my situation I was not considered an international applicant. (And I don't think you will be either, I think it's different for citizens of Canada and Mexico.) It says on the page that aid is need-blind, and that was certainly true in my case.

yes they do. which is the only way i'm attending this school right now.

how good is your financial aid?

yes they do, but applying for fa has impact on your chance of getting in. they are need aware to canadians from this yr on. before that they were need blind to canadian citizens. you are no different from a chinese applicant now.
