Simple question - do colleges treat AP Comp Sci as a science or elective? I ask because it has "science" in the name, but is actually more programming and not a pure science.

Elective, I'm pretty sure.

It's really more of a math course than a science course. At my school it's in the math department anyway. But I'm not sure about whether it's considered an elective or not.

I always thought it was math

when i registered for it it was under the 'math' section.

I don't think it will count as either science or math in college admission.

At our school it applies as a fine arts credit. I'm guessing more of an elective than science...

definitely elective, and typically a 'math' elective.

On the same note, most colleges count AP Psych as a social studies class as opposed to a science, correct?
