I was wondering if cornell recalculate GPA for the admission.
if so, how do they work?

Do they want the Weighted GPA or unweighted GPA or both ?

THank you,

Not sure, but I'd guess they standardize GPA's for all applicants somehow, because there are so many different systems and even though the adcoms understand them all, it's probably easier if they can see everyone's GPA on the same scale.
I don't think it's anything like the UC's and UMich's GPA recalculation, where they only look at academic classes from junior and sophomore year.

Not sure, just pure speculation . . .

i am pretty sure they don't recalc too many students apply for that. infact i remeber them saying the don't recalc. so if your under unweighted system sucks for you.

i dont think they could put them all on a scale...there are some schools that are ridiculously into grade inflation...and likewise those that are into grade deflation. its all up to the regional rep who reads that area's applications. they know how to compare the gpas in a given area since they know the schools.
