Does anyone know if Cornell tracks interest? I didn't see it mentioned on their website.

I understand that Penn does and Yale does not.

if I understand the meaning of “track interest” that means if you visit a lot or go to events or whatever, will they notice? when I did my alumni interview in fall of 2007, the person said that it was important to visit, and that Cornell would notice. I guess that is at least some type of interest tracking, isn’t it? he was pretty emphatic about it too. however…I have not heard this directly from anyone working in admissions, so we’ll need to wait for more posts, I guess.

I doubt Cornell tracks interest, or any of the Ivies and top colleges for that matter. With tens of thousands of applicants, it’s a lot of extra work.

They may not track interest, as in who came to what info session, but when it comes to applications, Cornell is all about ‘fit’. Showing that you know about Cornell, its campus, and some of the nitty gritty about the program you are interested in … that’s important!
