Does CSULB send email confirmation after submitting application ?

I applied to five other cal states and minutes later after I submitted my applications and payed they all emailed me right away confirming that I have submitted my application. The only Cal State that did not email me right away was Cal State Long Beach.

Is this normal for them not to email students right away confirming that the application was submitted?

or should I be concerned? or has this happend to any other Cal State Long Beach applicants ?

and yes I doubled checked if I did put in my right email address.

If I should be concered who or what department should I call asking about this question ?

also I am a transfer student apply for Fall 2016 in case that info is important to my question

p.s. I just noticed I put the wrong primary telephone number under the " Name And Address" section its off by one number :frowning: How do I fix this? Should I be contacting the admissions office ?

I wish I could delete this thread. what happened is that I accidentally deleted the email confirmation.

@StilesStyles this thread reminds me of the wise tidbit that problems sometimes resolve themselves w/o our help

Hopefully you can retrieve your initial e-mail receipt but in any case if you are a confirmed applicant (i.e. they’ve processed your payment) and they have your correct e-mail address then you should receive another e-mail which is the “official” confirmation and contains your student portal access info. I don’t think D2 has received hers yet from Long Beach (she did receive Fullerton’s just today and she applied to both on 10/1). Not sure but once you access the portal you may be able to change your contact info. and correct that phone #. They probably wouldn’t be calling you anyway - most likely e-mail or portal will be the only method of communication until you are accepted. If and when that happens and you hadn’t been able to alter your contact info. on the portal you can always call them at that time and provide the correction.

Good luck!

@Mamelot thank you for letting me know ! that helped a lot ! I have a question has D2 used the “applicant self-service” for CSULB ? and if so did they have their application on file? I have already checked my application status on self service but it keeps saying they have no application on file and it has been 1 week since I submitted my application and another 1 week since I gotten my ID number
I think I am going to call the admissions office at csulb in a couple of days if my application is still not on file
thanks !

@StilesStyles YES and it’s very annoying!! Their systems must be bogged down with applications. On the one hand they say D2 has no application on file - on the other they gave her an ID # BECAUSE she has an application on file. I’ll bet if you call they will tell you it’s still “being processed” lol. She was planning on contacting them if it goes on another week or two.

D2’s application for SJSU still says they haven’t received her SAT score - even though she had them sent to CSU Mentor in mid-September and the directions specifically state that she needs to do that in order for them to be received. Again, it’s just a waiting game for them to get her application processed correctly.

And she’s heard nothing from Northridge yet. At least they said it’ll be several weeks before she does so no need to call till November I think.

The Cal State schools have been just swamped with applications for the past few years so I’m not surprised their computer systems are overwhelmed.

Let me know what LB says!

@Mamelot ahh okay Thank you for letting me know I was so worried ! I hope everything is processed well for D2!
you are very helpful !
also let me know what schools D2 gets into !

Will do, @StilesStyles. And good luck to you!

You can probably pull up your confirmation info on the CSU Mentor site. Go to the page where you prepared and submitted your application.
