does anybody know that if you apply to dartmouth, whether there's an interview and if so, is it required or recommended? also, how difficult is the supplement to the common app? thanks.

You can request an either an off campus or an alumni interview.

I don't think the interview is required, but it'll be helpful (mostly to you, so you can ask questions). The supplement, I think, was just the pre-application (which is just basic information) and the peer rec. So supplement is cake if you've already gotten the common app done.

the supplement is just the peer rec and ED signature page, so extra work to you, the applicant. When my S applied last year, he didn't have to request an interview, the alumni interviewer just called the house and left a message (we were out) with some available times in the early evening. The inteview itself was low key, took about 50 minutes; they met at a local Starbucks and had a good conversation about the school, both pro and con.

Definitely avail yourself of the opportunity if you can.
