Does Dartmouth personalize their decision letters?

I was reading a thread on the Rice U board, and this one guy was trying to get all the ED rejected kids to post their letters. I thought this was really stupid, but apparently, he says that some colleges (notably- Dartmouth) personalize their rejection letters. One said something along the lines of... "hi, just because you're a super legacy, doesn't mean you're going to get in. Have a nice day".

Does Dartmouth really personalize letters- not just rejection ones? For example, I got deferred, and at the very end, the letter said something like.. "You should continue with your college applications. As a motivation, you should be aware that only a small percentage of deferred students matriculate after the RD round" or something like that. Did anyone else get this? Just wonderin'.

My Dartmouth letter showed no signs of personalization.

All colleges do this when they are really going after somebody hard. For instance, when of my friends is currently a sophomore at Denison U in Ohio. When he got into Denison, his acceptance letter had a handwritten note on it from the Denison dean of admissions.

they say the rejection letters are

I don't know, but I keep both rejection letter and acceptance letter from Dartmouth. (rejection for Class of 2007 and acceptance for 2009) Both are not personalized. But my friend who was admitted into class of '08 said the admission officer commented on her essay on her admission letter.
For financial aid applicants, if you are strongly favored by the admission committee, you will be recommended to the financial aid office for the eligibility as an "endowed scholar", which requires an annual 3.0 GPA in college study.

I'd imagine that unless your application is truly extraordinary, they won't comment on anything.
