Does DD need to submit both ACT and SAT?

I'm not sure where to post this so I'm just asking the question here. I will also post in the Transfer forum.

My DD is in her first year in the Honors College at a small LAC in Virginia. She is doing very well academically (3.7 as of now); and she finished up her senior year with all A's and a 4.22 GPA for a cumulative GPA of 3.87 (it was a 3.76 when she submitted her college apps)

She has always wanted to go to one of two bigger state schools, but was waitlisted at both of them last spring. She will be working on applications for each of the schools when she comes home for winter break. Does she need to submit BOTH her SAT and ACT scores from high school? Her SATs were pretty bleak, but she did well on her ACT, so would prefer to just send that score. Of course she submitted both of them to the schools when she applied to last year. Will they still have record of those?

She is active in her Honor Society Association and will begin tutoring students from the surrounding low-income areas as well - something she was involved in in High School.

I sure hope this time is the charm for her.

She needs to read the college websites and see the testing requirement and reporting policies for the schools she’s applying to, there’s no single answer.

Usually schools will require only the SAT or ACT to fulfill their testing requirements, but some request that all testing be reported. Again, check the college website.

Whether or not they will still have her scores from last year on file is also college dependent. Some will hold on to records, others dump them at the end of the cycle, have her call/email the schools and ask.
