I have a week left(finals) at my current college and I just recently got myself into some trouble. I am wondering whether or not the records of sanctions or actions taken against me are included in my transcript. I am basically already enrolled at my new college, I just need to finish my finals and send my final transcript. Thank you.

I think it probably depends on what the disciplinary action was…if it was super serious like plagiarism, then possibly.

I’m curious about this too…I just got an official warning from my college for violating my colleges alcohol policy. i do not think that it shows up on my transcript, or at least i hope not

Unless the college you’re transferring to is super-concerned about alcohol, then I don’t think that’s going to be a big deal. On the other hand I suspect that any sort of ethical or academic violation will be a deal breaker.

I don’t believe it will show up on your transcript but it will surely show up on a Deans report if you try to transfer.

On the common apps dean’s report it only asks the question “has the student faced disciplinary action that resulted in probation, suspension, or expulsion…”. I only received a warning, so I’m hoping that for schools that use the commonapp that it will not be reported.

I didnt get in trouble for plagarism or anything academically. All my papers are pretty much through to my new school except my final transcript. The worst part is, if i do not go to my hearing at the school, they can hold my final transcript pending disciplinary action. So if I go to the hearing and get suspended, will that show up on my transcript? Or will it only affect me at my current school.

I really do not know if a suspension would show up on your transcript. My guess would be that it would, but don’t you have to do something pretty bad to get suspended?

well you would think that but because I go to a small private catholic college, they are pretty strict on certain matters. I was under the impression that transcripts only held grades and other academic information. I feel like the only way y new school can find out about this incident is if my current school tells them in a letter of some sort. Because my application to my new school never asked for a deans recommendation, is that something I have to worry about?

What if I am suspended after the semester is over? As in to be readmitted as a formal procedure I need to write them an apology yadda yadda for a minor drug possession.

Would this affect transfer admission to say Penn State? I have already been accepted and will finish the semester strongly with a 3.1+ gpa.

As a more general question does Penn State even care about this? I don’t exactly see too many threads about this here.

I don’t think that all universities look at disciplinary expulsions as seriously as you might think. A young man at my daughter’s college was expelled after a Student Conduct Review Committee heard both sides of the story and recommended expulsion. Administration agreed and also denied his appeal. He has not been charged legally but the legal investigation is ongoing. What he did to a female student is unspeakable. Yet, the University of Missouri at Columbia quickly accepted him. He didn’t even miss a semester despite his transcript being updated with a disciplinary expulsion. This is incomprehensible to me. I realize that no school can assure our students’ safety but why would they accept transfer students with documented disciplinary expulsions without investigating.
