Does DS need his high school’s approval for this?

This is a unique situation since both are elective courses.

I think taking the next level of Spanish would make him more competitive. My high school required three years of a FL as do many others.

What’s good about CS though is that you can easily learn it on the side. A formal class isn’t very necessary. If you want to take one you can take an online one. Once you learn the basics you can very easily self study other languages/other topics.

For those submitting various course suggestions, keep in mind that at smaller schools students often can’t just drop one class to get another one … .much depends on the periods they are offered.
