So I've noticed how every single school asks whether I have taken dual enrolled courses at a university. I have taken BC CALC and multivariable clac at a local community college. I want to be an engineer. Does this help or hurt my chances? Part of my says it shows initiative while another part says I may be using it to get out of hard classes in college (which is true)

I wouldn’t think it would hurt your chances.

It will definitely help, assuming you’ve done well. Many students in engineering programs struggle with multivariable calculus–if you’ve done well, that sends a good signal. If they thought you were trying to get out of hard classes, they just wouldn’t give you transfer credit (and you’ll find that many selective private schools won’t).
