Does ED really help THAT much?

I was thinking about applying Early Decision at Brown this year, but I think I could be wasting an ED opportunity since my credentials are somewhat average. Will ED really give me a boost? Here is a short list of my credentials, please tell me if it's worth it to apply ED at Brown.

SAT I (2250) - M: 720, CR: 770, Wr: 750
SAT II - Math II: 730, US History: 770, Spanish: 700 (RETAKING!!!)
GPA - UW: 4.0, W: 5.25
Class Rank - 3/550ish
Most rigorous course-load at a good public school in South Florida
APs (8 so far): four 4s and four 5s
ECs (not great): 500 volunteer hours, debate, political activism, etc.
Hooks: possible URM (half Hispanic), geographic diversity, income below 100K?
Essays/Recs: Not done yet, but not looking somewhat bleak so far.

If you have time, what do you think about my prospects at HYP, Columbia, Dartmouth, Stanford, Georgetown, Tufts, Duke, NW, etc.?

I know these are all reaches but I would really appreciate the opportunity to study at a top school, especially one that's far away from this godforsaken swampland.

Thank you for your time.

I am ashamed to do it … but
bump

I know that you obsessive compulsive, Type A personality CCers like me are awake right now and stressing about college. Help a brother out PLEASE.

Honestly? Quit being so humble, you have a 4.0 and fantastic SATs, if you want Brown, apply ED, you’l probably get in.

Thank you so much, but I’m seriously worried that its not good enough for ivies and other top schools, since there are kids all over the country with equal or better stats.

I would say you have a good chance. If Brown is your dream school, then there is no reason you shouldn’t apply to it ED. You may get in, you never know, and that ED may make all the difference. Best of luck!

You’re a reasonable candidate. You’re an excellent candidate if they consider you Hispanic.

thank you
bump

Yea…your SAT scores are good enough for all the Ivies. Good enough doesn’t mean you’ll get in however. Ivies are not very predictable when it come to picking people with only SAT scores as a factor. Other than that you are kinda of the average Ivy leaguer. Brown is NOT THAT selective. In fact it is considered the least competitive Ivy school… You’ll probably get in through ED. But if you want to have chances at other places then don’t do ED.
