Does ED really help?

Okay so my stats are not as strong as those of average people who apply brown for ed. I mean its not bad but its not those wow types… I havent yet started my essays yet nd i literally have no time before the deadline bcoz of school tests nd IB ****s. would ed really increase my chance?? one told me that ed gives 100+ for sat score but i doubt that

The numbers are deceptive. A lot of the people accepted ED are athletes – and since they are recruited, their chance of acceptance is 100%. Remove the athletes, and the ED acceptance rate is still higher than the RD rate, but not that much. If your application will improve in the two months between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31 (good grades senior year, retake of SATs), then you are better off applying RD.

I agree that if your application will improve, you should wait. I think that ED does increase your chance of getting in because top schools want high student yield. Maybe I’m wrong, but I like to believe I have a better shot of getting in now than later.

Submitting a poor and rushed application certainly will decrease your chances relative to a well crafted RD app. Any supposed boost you receive will be quickly offset by this.

Wait for RD and doggone it, clear off time in your schedule!!
Good luck.
