Does Emory require its first year students to dorm on campus?

I heard that some schools actually want their students to stay on campus because it creates a "better learning enviornment".

So does Emory require it or can I stay with my family in my house in GA?

Also, how are the dorms in Emory?

Yes, all freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. If you live within a certain radius of campus ( I think 25 miles, but I'm not sure) you can live at home those years, but honestly, you loose out on a lot of the college experience, especially at Emory, if you don't live on campus your first year.

Brand new freshmen dorms for all freshmen are under construction right now. The old ones aren't that bad, but the new ones are definitely incredible.

Do you think the dorms will be ready for the next year's freshmen?

There will be about 400 beds finished by then. They're opening the new buildings in phases.

Thanks for the link. So what does the new dorms have that the old ones doesn't have?

Do you know if any of the dorms will have private baths?
