Does ethnicity matter in the college application process?

<p>Hello I am a current Junior looking to apply to a top tier college like Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, and MIT. Now, I know that top schools like these look to balance their campus with a variety of students from various backgrounds and ethnicity. Although, college admission people deny that they favor minorities...they really do. That being said, are Asians at a disadvantage in the college process as we are the majority (~15% of most ivies). Although, Asians in the USA are a minority, at college they are the majority. So my question is, I am an Asian, so should i put down that fact that I am an asian or just leave race as"choose not to respond" on the college application? </p>
