does everybody attach a resume to their application???

i think that the space for activities on the common application is too small. does everybody attach a resume to their application ? if most applicants attach one maybe I should too

you don't have to be just like everybody else in order to get into college.

Many schools actually specifically state that they will not consider supplemental materials sent with applications. SO...if that is the case, pick what you think is the most important and put it into the teeny tiny space on the application. At many places, the application gets read, and other "stuff" gets tossed. I do know that specific types of programs will ask for a resume. For example, most students applying as music performance majors are asked to send a resume, and a list of repertoire along with their applications. SO...if the college asks for a resume, send one. Otherwise, don't.

or should i attach just an activity list ?

what format should I use ?

another question

when i fill up the "most meaningful activity and why" question of the common app the fonts are so tiny... should i handwrite or leave them the way they are ??

on the common app and some others, it says, please fill this in EVEN IF you plan to attach an additional resume, which makes it sound to me like theyr'e implying that it's ok and that people do. i don't know; i did. i have pretty lengthy ecs, if you don't and it's gonna look like you just rewrote the same stuff bigger, then don't. but if you only have room to mention that you won at science fair and want to include research topics and specific and special awards, i think that's appropriate. if they toss it, they toss it. and yeah, if they specifically say DON'T then don't, but if not, the worst thing that happens is they don't read it, which they wouldn't if you didn't send it in the first place

the format i used had categories; like academic awards and achievements, sports, arts, music, etc. then i listed kind of like the format that the form asked for: name of activity, small details, time spent per week/weeks per year, grade levels, awards/distinctions/positions held

if you want to see it i could email it to you

how many words did you write for the short answer thing.... the fonts are so tiny i think it is possible to write a whole personal statements , around 400 words.
