Does everyone get an interview?

I don't think it's true, either. I sent my Form 1 in October, so I got scheduled for an interview (Dec 27) even before I had submitted my Form 2 (Dec 30). Actually, I wrote my essays for Brown the day after the interview. I pretty much wrote what I said in the interview because I got some good essay ideas then. So it's not like they decided I was a good candidate just based on, what? my name and my address? However, Brown did receive one letter of recommendation (the science one) and my SAT scores in late October/ early November, so maybe this was it, though I doubt it. Though really, I would like to believe that getting the interview was a good sign.

Whether or not you get an interview depends on the availability of alumni interviewers in your area. Though what I wonder is if there are too many applicants in an area for the alumni interviewers to interview all, whom do they choose? the definite admits, the maybes, or the ones who submitted their applications in first?

Also, 90% interview rate among successful applicants doesn't mean anything because there could also have been a 90% interview rate among rejected applicants. What would be meaningful would be a 90% acceptance rate among those interviewed. That would be CRAZY!
