Latest news is that Charles will evict them from Frogmore Cottage, so they will no longer have a UK base. Seems sensible to me.

Just read a headline stating that H and M want to sit down with King Charles and Prince William before the coronation (privately) and get an apology. Seems like it is a bit too late for this conversation.

Not really. I think it’s long over due. But Charles has other pressing matters - like all of the musicians turning down his requests to perform at the coronation.

I’d read nothing into most of that. There should be zero expectation that artists on tour would revise their announced schedule. And it’s not like it’s an invitation to perform at the coronation.

H&M’s need for some sort of acknowledgment and apology from the family for their perceived insult/injury is developing or already has developed into an unhealthy obsession.
If I were Charles and William, I’d say enough. You chose to leave, to live abroad, to air your grievances and dirty laundry for money. Enjoy your choices and your life. Goodbye.

I was not comparing. I think most of the headlines about H and M are about getting clicks. It is how media; and now H and M make money.

And I don’t really understand the situation. The house was gifted to them? Or offered as a rental? And if they spent $3 million of their money on it, do they get it back if the house is taken?
More I read about how these two are being treated, more I think Charles and his favorite William are abhorrent people.

A lot of people seem surprisingly willing to cut off their kids for “airing dirty laundry”. You’re urging a father to cut his son out of his life. And really the reason for the original split was because the son didn’t want to work in the family business anymore, after dedicating his entire life since birth to it. To which his billionaire father and grandmother said, “Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out”.
For me it would take a whole lot more than that to cut a son or daughter out of my life. I would also hope that with a split that deep maybe I’d do a little introspection and consider if maybe some fraction of the fault lay with me.
Regardless, it seems like you’re in alignment with Charles as he’s giving Frogmore to Andrew. The subtext there is that Frogmore had royal security, so now Harry & Meghan will not have a secure residence for future visits, never mind that they spent 3M of their own money renovating it. So it appears Charles is telling Harry not to come back and visit.

Theoretically, they get back a prorated portion.
I question how “in Charles’ life” Harry actually was to begin with. I don’t think either Charles or William will have to do much to overtly cut out Harry given that H&M have chosen to live over 5000 miles away; hard to believe that they had any real intention of remaining “close” to their family when you add in their exit and the continual deluge of dirty laundry aired for money on top.
Do you believe they want to be close to the family? I find actions speak louder than words and theirs are not aligning.

Andrew is not happy about being relegated to Frogmore Cottage. He is currantly living at Windsor Royal Lodge which has 30 bedrooms. Andrew had to pay rent at Windsor Royal Lodge which he couldn’t afford. Frogmore is a big step down as it only has 5.
I am not surprised that Charles took Frogmore away. They were never there. They seemed to have pinned their future in California. The way that H portrayed Charles, Camilla and William in his book did not give Charles much choice. H & M are wildly unpopular with the British public.
H & M were could have had an apartment at Kensington Palace, but they didn’t want to be too close to William and Kate. I don’t think that they were that pleased to get Frogmore Cottage, but that is what the Queen offered.
I don’t really think that Harry truly thought out the consequences of the revelations in his book. I keep seeing that he and Megan are expecting (or demanding) an apology from Charles and William. It isn’t coming and probably never will.
