Let's on your fafsa report you said that your parents make a total of under $24,000 a year.
And then let's say that you applied to Nyu one of the most expensive colleges in the nation, will NYU look at your fafsa and be more likely to decline you due to your income status?

I doubt it makes a difference to NYU since NYU doesn’t give much aid to most students. Don’t be surprised if they accept you, but don’t give you enough aid. NYU is famous for giving horrible aid packages and expecting low-income families to take out huge unaffordable loans.

Unless you have super high stats, don’t get your hopes up that NYU will be affordable.

*Gpa: 3.0
Weighted Gpa: Unknown, but higher than regular Gpa.
Ethnicity: Asian
State: New York
Took mostly Ap and honors courses, though didn’t take the ap exam
downward trend with grades because i started freshmen year with a bunch of regular courses
SATS: Math: 700 Writing: 590 Reading: 600, taken 3 times and superscored them
Sat II: Bio: 610 yeah sucked
ACT: 22, yeah it sucked
*

Are these your stats?

yeah but my gpa has gone up

I also applied to northeastern as well and I was wondering the same thing for that college same with like university of vermont and syracuse, i have recently gotten accepted in suny buffalo, mass college of pharmacy, duquesne, university of rhode island, and st johns so far and some of them are pricey schools as well

Do you live in NYC? Have you looked at the CUNYs? I’m not sure you can afford any of the schools you have listed. Certainly the OOS publics like UMass won’t help you.

It depends upon the school. NYU is need blind in admissions. They will accept a student regardless of need. The problem is that it doesn’t tend to meet need except for the students they most want to have. As a result, many kids get gapped, and if they still decide to go there, they and their families often take out risky amounts of loans.

There are some schools that are need aware and there are programs and situations where even a need blind school might be need aware.

It looks like you’ll have a 0 EFC. Your most affordable choices will probably be NY state schools because of TAP and Pell.

The pricey schools and OOS publics probably aren’t going to work.
