Does fafsa look at state or federal taxes?

<p>I haven't done my state taxes, but I already did my federal. I'm going to do my state in a few weeks. What does fafsa actually look at? Can I use the tax retrieval option if I only have my federal taxes done?</p>

<p>Yes, you can use the retrieval function with only Federal taxes completed; I did it for D1 yesterday.</p>
