Does failure student have a chance?

I was forced to withdraw (instead of getting dismissed) because of my grades in previous university.

It has been a few years since then, and I am getting near 4.0 in community college that I enrolled thereafter but I am extremely worried because of the chance that colleges would automatically reject me because I did so poorly in other university. Also, if they decide to include previous record to my current GPA, my GPA will look like a trash...

Has anyone been in the similar situation?

I don't want to lie on the application and never will (colleges ask for grades from "all institutions attended" anyways...), but I feel like I am wasting time and money.

Should I be upfront in the essay portion to give me a chance or something?

Please, I will be frank with you, but offer me a helpful advice.
My GPA from previous college was less than 1.0 and even though I had withdrawn I am sure the college put those grades in the transcript.

You could write about how you’ve changed since your first university and how it taught you to be a better student, things like that. Not just, I messed up and I won’t do it again but how you learned and grew from everything. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere!

It is not uncommon for a student to take time off and come back with better grades. Most schools will welcome you based on your latest improvement. Addressing it in the essay is not a bad idea.
